Norbert Niederkofler
Celebrity chef Norbert Niederkofler, a native of Lutago in the Valle Aurina, has shown unprecedented skill in enriching the Alpine cuisine and making it truly unique. Using sustainable ingredients and regional flavours, he creates “not just mere meals, but unforgettable human experiences,” to quote the 2017 Michelin jury.
After working in London, Zurich, Milan and New York, in 1994 Norbert returned to his origins - and not just in the geographical sense! Now, with his “Alpine cuisine”, the South Tyrolean chef focuses exclusively on local ingredients and flavours for his gourmet creations. And his great success is reflected by his three stars and four chef’s hats in the sector’s top guides. His cuisine is also characterised by strictly sustainable management of resources, with the aim of avoiding every kind of waste.
